Client Monitor

Assist clients with scheduled and unscheduled activities, life skill groups, family visitation and the mental health and/or substance abuse rehab programs, keep accurate documentation of activities and reactions of client and assist in other basic unit related tasks. Responsible for ensuring the safety of clients, residential children, staff and the unit. Provide for direct supervision of residential clients and their children.

Education and Experience:
Must have degree (i.e. Associates degree or above), certification in the behavioral health field (i.e. CDCA, SW Asst., etc), OR a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 3+ years of behavioral health experience. Must possess interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities Summary: Maintain open communication with all staff members

Maintain confidentiality regarding client and program information

Document relevant information and observations in established logs. Accurately observe record and report client behavior

Participate in verbal exchange of important information during shift changes and notify appropriate staff (written or verbal) when circumstances necessitate

During a crisis or an emergency, Client Monitor must be able to calmly assess the situation and provide the proper intervention including notifying appropriate supervisor, on-call clinicians and emergency personnel (911 or Police)

Share in the management of the Unit, including record keeping (complete necessary forms and reports), order supplies, request appropriate maintenance with a commitment to cost containment and unit budget

Team Member: Attends staff meetings, maintains flexibility in staffing patterns, and maintains good attendance and reports to work as scheduled. Accepts and use supervision and training
keeps appropriate professional staff apprised of current problems and issues on the unit. Attend in-service training and all scheduled meetings, contributing perceptions and opinions on issues. Attend Agency conferences/meetings to increase professional knowledge and skills

File clinical documentation, i.e., service tickets, group notes, medical forms, etc. (accurately and timely)

Observe clients taking their medication as part of the “Self-Administration of Medication” policy and procedure

Collection of drug screens, when directed

Suggest ways to solve problems and make improvements on unit

Promote good interpersonal relationship among co-workers, clients, families, and other departments

Maintain professional conduct and boundaries

Facilitate life skill and activities groups and individual therapeutic programs. Maintain supportive contacts with clients

Assist clients with community adjustments
perform various everyday activities with clients to increase their functioning after discharge from program. Assist in developing activities for clients

Assist clients with crafts

Escort clients to various activities or programs as scheduled

Assist with admission and discharge of clients, includes all necessary program specific paperwork and CQUIR survey

Support philosophy and objectives of the unit and agency

Assist in providing a clean, quiet and comfortable and safe environment for patients and personnel

Act as liaison between client and staff

Fully knowledgeable of fire, disaster and safety regulations of facility

Housekeeping duties as assigned

Answer phones - take and relay messages in a professional , courteous, and accurate manner

Perform additional assigned duties such as run Life Skills Group (i.e. money management,cooking skills,paying bills,doing the laundry,etc.)
Run Parenting Group

Stock forms

Replenish supplies

Complete required logs

Take clients to AA and NA meetings

Assist with client chores

Shift reports, etc

Ability to be trained on Electronic Care Records(ECR) as needed

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or program supervisor of ARC and/or Women’s Services.

Hours:
Day or Night positions available- 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends.
