Intake and Assessment Therapist

Provides direction, supervision and administration of the Intake and Assessment Department by effective management and leadership techniques. This position will also monitor the agency’s waiting list, and make timely referrals to other agencies when appropriate. Responsible for the quality performance of all department functions. Responsible for the diagnosing, assessing level of care and assignment to specific program centers for psychotherapy services to clients, as well as delivery of psychotherapy services to clients. Responsible for ensuring that: 1) services are provided in a manner consistent with contractual requirements of each of the various funding sources for the program, and 2) appropriate forms and reports documenting such services are generated in a timely and accurate manner by the staff responsible for providing such services. Ensures that the emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in human services or related field. LISW, LPCC or Ph.D. (or registered as eligible with State Board)., licensed in the State of Ohio, chemical dependency certification or equivalent experience. Five years experience in a human services profession with above average managerial and supervisor skills, as well as supervision experience. Have ability to work effectively with families, adults and children with emotional and/or chemical dependency problems.

Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Provide individual psychotherapy services to clients in specified programs

Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy services as needed to fulfill agency goals and contractual requirements

Collaborate with other members of agency clinical staff regarding clinical issues which arise in the performance of direct service functions

Assist in the development and implementation techniques, procedures and systems designed to improve the level of care or quality of services as identified or needed for new and existing programs

Maintains all certification standards required by funding sources, federal authorities and the State of Ohio, and the agency

Assists in the development and implementation techniques, procedures and systems designed to improve the level of care or quality of services as identified or needed for new and existing programs

Participate in educational and training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills

Complete and process electronic service tickets and other required documentation in a timely manner and according to established procedures

Accept assignment of cases and is responsible for communicating case load to unit manager to ensure achievement of the required minimum level of direct service productivity

Case collaboration with outside professionals

Attend team meetings to discuss cases and collaborate with other staff members

Perform other duties as assigned including participation in QA subcommittees as requested.
