LPN - Medication Assisted Program
Responsible for dispensing Medication Assisted Treatment medications to our clients.
The LPN will comply with all of the terms and provisions of the law and ethical standards relating to the services rendered and all the rules and regulations of The Crossroads Center and State of Ohio.
Education and Experience:
Diploma, Associates or LPN/ LVN degree in nursing from an accredited school;
Unrestricted LPN license in the State of Ohio; Chemical Dependency certification or experience is preferred;
Knowledge of safe nursing practice and the ability to apply the necessary skills and techniques of client care;
Demonstrates knowledge of interventions for acute chemical dependency withdrawal including signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol intoxication/withdrawal.
Duties and Responsibility Summary:
Dosing of Medication Assisted Treatment Program clients;
Assesses clients for dose changes and follows orders according to protocol;
Ensures accurate transcription and implementation of physician orders;
Documents and communicates with counseling, administrative and medical staff on any client incidents and/or concerns;
As assigned, performs daily methadone tally, assuming accountability for an accurate methadone and other medication counts;
Coordinates care between the clinic and various hospital or health care providers, serving as a client advocate as necessary;
Actively participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and provides relevant client information;
Develops and strives to achieve annual individual professional goals;
Maintains professional competence through participating in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences;
Attends all mandatory in-service training, regular departmental staff meetings and other meetings as required.
