Residential Therapist

Responsible for delivery of psychotherapy services to clients. Ensure that medically related emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual/group basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state and local Standards, guidelines and regulations. Completes all written documentation of services according to the requirements of the agency and provides other documentation as required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field; mental health and/or chemical dependency certification or equivalent experience

One year post graduate experience as therapist preferred.

Ability to work effectively with families, adults and children with emotional and/or chemical dependency problems; to collaborate as a team member; to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; to organize work and manage time effectively.

LSW, LISW, LPC or LPCC licensed in State of Ohio.

Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Provide individual/group psychotherapy services to a target population of substance abusing/co-occurring disorder clients age 18 or older residing in Hamilton County, Ohio

Participates in development of Individual Service Plan (ISP). Involves clients in service planning. Identifies and interprets psychosocial needs of clients for inclusion in the ISP, addressing in particular issues of schedule, treatment, and environment that express and reinforce individuality and identity. Documents measurable goals and objectives and documents progress towards goal attainment

Facilitates the social and psychological well-being of clients and their families. Empowers clients and encourages client choice in matters affecting them, demonstrating receptive attitudes and sensitivity to choices based on racial, cultural and ethnic heritage. Mediates issues that arise among clients, families and staff. Monitors clients’ movement through treatment. Provide clients with crisis management services

Plans discharges/transfers to ensure appropriateness and continuity of care. Develop a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, families, multidisciplinary staff and referral agencies which identifies client needs and preferences

Collaborates with other members of agency clinical staff regarding clinical issues which arise in the performance of direct service functions

Collaborate with other members of the Hamilton County Mental Health Court, and agency clinical staff regarding clinical issues that arise in the performance of direct service functions

Assists in the development and implementation techniques, procedures and systems designed to improve the level of care or quality of services as identified or needed for new and existing programs

Maintains all certification standards required by funding sources, the State of Ohio and the agency participates in educational and training opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills

Completes and processes progress notes and other required documentation in a timely manner and according to established procedures

Accepts assignment of cases and is responsible for communicating case load to Director of Residential Services to ensure achievement of the required minimum level of direct service productivity

Documents outcomes of treatment

Meet regularly with the Director of Residential Services to ensure achievement of the required minimum level of direct service productivity

Performs other duties as assigned (including participation in CQI Subcommittee functions).
