General Outpatient

Outpatient services allow a person to maintain work, school, and/or family schedules while receiving effective treatment. Sessions are usually one hour in length on a weekly basis but are specifically tailored to meet each client’s individual clinical needs.

Admission Criteria

  • Men and women, 18 or older
  • Substance abuse or dependency not requiring detoxification
  • Adults exhibiting symptoms of alcohol/drug abuse or past history of abuse/addictions or mental health issues

STOP (Substance Abuse Treatment Outpatient Program)

Designed to assist individuals who can utilize an outpatient environment, both as a mode of intervention for the illness of substance dependence and as a means of maintaining sobriety once the illness is in remission. The program provides services primarily to adults referred through the criminal justice system. However, individuals referred through other sources are also seen within the outpatient program. The STOP program recognizes the importance of collaboration between the treatment system and the criminal justice system and encourages a team approach in the management and support of client cases. This program can provide primary care in the treatment of substance abuse and dependence or provide follow-up maintenance of sobriety for those moving further into their recovery.

The outpatient program also provides services and activities that impact several co-occurring problems such as child abuse/neglect, trauma issues, gambling addiction, chronic health issues, employment and self-sufficiency and home management deficiencies.The program has collaborative relationships with the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services (JFS), Hamilton County Justice Center, Probation and Parole Departments, University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) and other social service agencies.The STOP program is structured to provide a continuum of care beginning with a thorough biopsychosocial assessment and placement of clients in the appropriate level of care. Treatment services are based on individual client needs and may include individual and group therapy, family therapy, intensive outpatient, random urine drug screens, case management services, structured childcare and psychiatric treatment.

SAMI (Substance Abuse And Mental Illness)

The SAMI program provides comprehensive outpatient recovery services to adults suffering with substance abuse / addictions or dependence and mental illness.Treatment for both disorders occur simultaneously. The program utilizes individualized treatment approaches to assist the client in achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes and recoveries for both primary diseases. Individuals who are served by the SAMI program are suffering with co-morbid features of mental illness and chemical misuse. These individuals have a diagnosis of a mental disorder and chemical dependency or abuse diagnosis as defined in the DSM-V.

A continuum of care has been developed with a range of services designed to address the severity of either disease process (chemical misuse or mental disorder) and/or to provide the support necessary to successfully integrate the customer in the community. This program consists of diagnostic assessment of both psychiatric and chemical abuse disorders, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, case management, medical somatics and drug screening.Services are offered to assist the individual in their recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction while at the same time treating illness such as Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Schizoaffective Disorder.

Medication Treatment

The Crossroads Center’s Opioid Treatment Program is approved by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to administer and dispense narcotic medications for either detoxification treatment or maintenance therapy to persons who have become addicted to narcotics. The program, when appropriate or necessary, also provides a comprehensive range of psychiatric and rehabilitative services.
